UNCW Wagsgiving 2023
Wagsgiving acts as an opportunity for students to experience a very traditional Thanksgiving meal without having to travel home. Serving main dishes like turkey, ham, mac and cheese, cornbread, stuffing, green beans, rolls, and mashed potatoes.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic minimizing social gatherings, the university has found a way to still make wagsgiving happen in a healthy and safe fashion.
They prepared for over 5,000 people to be in attendance ranging from students to faculty and friends. In the past, they have prepared 1,700 pounds of local Carolina turkey, over a thousand pounds of mashed potatoes, and 500 various pies.
During the 5 hour experience there are games, a DJ, local food/drink trucks, and a little taste of home for all students.
